Through the analysis of films, archives, movements, and practices, it promotes a deeper understanding of the historical, cultural, material, and symbolic dynamics of cinema. The course encourages the articulation between theoretical research, historical analysis, and reflection on the relationship between cinema, politics, and culture, as well as issues of circulation and reinterpretation of film heritage.

1. Theoretical and methodological foundations (revisited). 2. Critical approaches to film history, aesthetics and theory. 3. Relationships between cinema, culture, politics and technology. 4. Foundations for the analysis of works, authors, movements and cinematographic practices. 5. Applied research methods: study of archives, contexts of production and reception. 6. Writing and structuring theoretical or practical research projects. 7. Reflection on the role of the researcher and critical thinking in contemporary times.

Objectives
Acquire theoretical and methodological knowledge about research in cinema and audiovisual media. Develop skills in critical analysis of film archives and objects, as well as research skills in the historical, technological, and cultural contexts of cinema. Encourage the formulation of research questions and the structuring of theoretical projects in the field of present and past cinema experience.
