Objectives
Objectives
The aim of this CU is for the doctoral student to acquire the skills to prepare a research project, based on dedicated tutorial guidance which, if necessary, includes the completion of curricular units considered by the supervisor to be important for filling specific gaps. The preparation of a research work plan, which will guide the student in carrying out the research leading to the completion of the thesis, is one of the main objectives.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
Tutorial guidance, dedicated to each situation and duly adjusted to the research to be carried out, in order to guarantee the student the ability to carry out research autonomously, is the methodological basis. Assessment is carried out by the supervisor. As there is no PhD course, and the 1st year Thesis is a stage in the process, the final classification will correspond to the result of the public defence of the thesis (3rd year), with the following requirements (1st year) being a mandatory condition: Presentation of a Scientific Work Plan validated by the supervisor; Monitoring report (annual) which includes the research activities carried out, participation in scientific and dissemination events, scientific articles published and the organisation of events, as well as participation in research projects in coordination with the research centre.
