Resume

Ana Maria Paiva Morão holds a PhD in Literary Studies-specialization in Oral and Traditional Literature (Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal), a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures-Portuguese and English Studies (Universidade Aberta), the Corresponding Secretary Course (Bachelor's Degree) from ISLA (Instituto Superior de Línguas e Administação de Empresas) and the free courses “Environment in Portuguese Oral Traditional Literature” (Palácio Fronteira) and “Galician Literature (Universidade Nova de Lisboa). She is an Integrated Researcher at CLEPUL (Centro de Literaturas e Culturas Lusófonas e Europeias, a I&D research Center of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon), where she is the Coordinator of the Research Line “Traditional Literature and Portuguese Popular Traditions ‘Prof. M. Viegas Guerreiro’, being responsible for projects and a team member of others, some related with Data Bases and Digital Archives of texts, image, and sound. She is also a Researcher of CIAC (Research Centre in Communication Sciences and Arts, University of Algarve), a trainer accredited by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Continuing Education in the areas and domains of A151 Traditional Oral Literature and A156 Portuguese, and a teacher in the Postgraduate Course “Intangible Cultural Heritage” at Universidade Lusófona. She was part of the team of CTPP (I&D unit “Centro de Tradições Populares Portuguesas ‘Prof. Manuel Viegas Guerreiro’ [Portuguese Popular Traditions Center ‘Prof. Manuel Viegas Guerreiro’]” at FLUL- Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon-Portugal) that carried out the ADLOT Project (Digital Archive of Traditional Oral Literature PTDC/CLE-LLI/104023/2008), funded by FCT and integrated the team of projects related to folk knowledge, traditions and Oral Literature, organized and developed a project on Alentejo which included an ethnografic exibition of pastoralism objects and a book with DVD. She co-supervised a PhD Thesis, was the president of the Organizing and the Scientific Committees of the international conference “Literatura de Cordel e xilogravura” (Chapbook and Woodcut), coordinated and published books and articles in international peer-reviewed journals, participates with communications and moderation of panels in numerous congresses, colloquia, and other national and international cultural events, organized and gave workshops on Oral and Traditional Literature and Intangible Cultural Heritage in schools, municipalities, libraries and cultural associations, peer-reviewed articles, and organized cultural events (colloquia, conferences, exhibitions, concerts) at the Cultural Association of Montalvão (Nisa, Alentejo). She carries out individual works of collection and research of Oral and Traditional Literature and Practices, namely in Alentejo and Beira. Her interests, in addition to Traditional Oral Literature and Intangible Cultural Heritage, are Portugal's participation in the Great War. She is a member of the International Ballad Commission (Kommission für Volksdichtung) and of the Portuguese Association for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
