Reflecting Productivity and Job Quality

The Economic and Social Council has been promoting a series of opinions on subjects considered particularly relevant at this stage of national life. The book "Productivity and Quality of Employment - The Road to Growth and Better Wages" thus aims to contribute to improving public debate by providing documents drawn up, discussed and approved by representatives of the various sectors of Portuguese society. The Opinion, now published, focuses on two crucial economic and social issues: Productivity and Quality of Employment.

Once again, the Economic and Social Council would like to thank the rapporteur, Vice-President Fernando Alexandre, and the personalities and organisations that contributed to this work: Eugenio Rosa (economist), Joaquim Oliveira Martins (CEPII and Université Paris-Dauphine), Marta Silva (Banco de Portugal), Natalia Barbosa (UMinho), Nick Bloom (Stanford University), Nuno Boavida (CICS Nova), Paulo Pedroso (ISCTE), Pedro Brinca (Nova SBE) and Tania Gaspar (Laboratório Português dos Enientes de Trabalho Saudáveis and Universidade Lusofona).
