CBIOS is stepping up its research into natural products in Macau
The academic visit resulted in a formal agreement linking ULusófona and Macao in the field of pharmaceutical development and knowledge sharing.

Patrícia Rijo was a guest speaker at the “3rd International Symposium on Chinese Medicine and Natural Products” and the “3rd International Symposium on Pharmaceutical Sciences”, where she presented the pharmacological potential of the genus Plectranthus.
In addition, Elizabeth Lopes presented two scientific posters in the field of natural products.
This visit resulted in an ongoing agreement between Lusófona University and the University of Macau, with active collaboration already established between natural products laboratories and new developments planned for 2026–2027.
