The University of Alcalá has established a partnership with Lusófona University to offer its doctoral programme in Portugal.
The Doctoral Programme in Health Sciences at the University of Alcalá is integrated into the Doctoral School of the University of Alcalá, created by the decree “Orden 11375/2012, de 29 de octubre, BOCM 10-11 -2012”. This programme is available at Lusófona University, a preferred partner of the University of Alcalá, thanks to the long-standing cooperation agreements established between these two institutions.
The University of Alcalá is therefore, for all legal purposes, the official holder of the programme, and the aim of the cooperation is to promote a high-quality offer in advanced research and education in health sciences, within the universities and their respective countries and, through it, - to attract and encourage highly qualified graduates and academics, particularly from the Portuguese-speaking world, to participate in this programme; - to promote cooperation between research centres/groups and, eventually, to extend it to other institutions within the European Union.
The programme includes five scientific areas:
- Pharmacy (Experimental and Clinical)
- Medicine (Translational and Clinical)
- Sport Sciences
- Nursing
- Physiotherapy
However, these do not preclude the possibility of developing other related activities (R&D) within other domains/programmes of the UAH.
