On 25 February, Lusófona University - Porto University Centre organised the “Welcome Session Erasmus 2024/25”, aimed at Erasmus students in the second semester. Promoted by EVA - Internships and Active Life, the event aimed to facilitate the academic and social adaptation of new students by presenting the institution’s essential services and key information for their experience in Portugal.

The session began with an overview of the university’s history, followed by the presentation of the campus facilities and services, including libraries, study rooms, IT labs, cafeterias, and social areas. Student Support Services were also introduced, including the International Office (LIO and EVA) for Erasmus students, the Portuguese Language Course, psychological and academic support (SPIC and SATA), and extracurricular activities that foster integration into academic and social life.

The Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Isabel Babo, welcomed the students, highlighting the importance of academic mobility in personal and professional development. In her speech, she encouraged students to make the most of the learning and growth opportunities provided by the university.

During the event, Luís Braga, a representative of Porto City Council, presented municipal projects supporting Erasmus students, such as "Porto Youth", "Study in Porto", and "Porto Acolhe". These initiatives were emphasised as essential in helping students settle in the city, providing access to institutional resources and cultural activities.

In the final presentation, an officer from the Public Security Police (PSP) provided essential safety recommendations for the city of Porto, covering preventive measures, best practices for a safe stay, and key contact information in case of need.

The event concluded with an interactive session between students and moderators, allowing for clarification of doubts about courses, teaching methodologies, and university operations. This initiative reinforced Lusófona University - Porto University Centre’s commitment to the integration and well-being of its academic community, creating a welcoming environment for new students.
