The presentation brought together the finalists' collections and the Sustainability & Solidarity project, developed with the Portuguese Navy
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
After a year dedicated to creating and developing their collections, third-year students from Fashion Lusófona at Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre presented the results of their work on 8 July at the Pavilhão das Galeotas, in Lisbon.
FINAL ACT #3 brought together members of the academic community, families and representatives of the Portuguese Navy, including Commander Ricardo Sá Granja, spokesperson and Head of Public Relations for the Portuguese Navy and the National Maritime Authority.
The fashion show unfolded in two parts. In the first, the finalists showcased the collections they had developed throughout their academic journey, presenting a variety of approaches to design, materials and garment construction.
The second focused on the Sustainability & Solidarity project, which transformed decommissioned Portuguese Navy uniforms into new garments, accessories and textile surfaces, promoting reuse, the circular economy and social responsibility in fashion.
Developed in partnership with the Portuguese Navy, Sustainability & Solidarity also involved the collaboration of the Escola Superior de Educação of the Polytechnic University of Lisbon, whose students contributed in areas such as communication and logo design.
The collaboration between Lusófona University and its partner institutions strengthened the connection between academic education and practical experience, helping to showcase the students' talent and work.
