Lean as a Mechanism for Sales Growth and Commercial Dynamism in Retail

Aiming to strengthen the connection between the academic community and the professional sector, Lusófona University - CUL organised a highly relevant session on 9 January 2025. The event, which fostered an enriching dialogue on management practices, brought together experts and enthusiasts of the subject.

The session was moderated by Daniel Bourdain, Head of Continuous Improvement at Leroy Merlin Portugal, who shared valuable insights on how implementing the Lean philosophy can drive comprehensive organisational transformation. Bourdain emphasised that Lean, more than just a set of practices, is a philosophical approach focused on eliminating waste, increasing productivity, and creating superior value for the customer.

Lean has emerged as a powerful methodology in the contemporary business landscape, demonstrating its potential in process optimisation and team engagement. The effective application of this philosophy not only enhances operations but also leads to a significant increase in sales by aligning organisational goals with customer needs.
