Carlos Alberto Poiares assumes AIPJ presidency, with Portuguese representation for the first time

The Asociación Iberoamericana de Psicología Jurídica (AIPJ) held its 14th Congress in Lima from 21 to 25 July 2026, with the General Assembly taking place on 24 and 25 July, including the election of the governing bodies for the next two-year term on its agenda.
On that occasion, the President of the Associação para a Intervenção Juspsicológica (PSIJUS), Carlos Alberto Poiares, lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Director of its Bachelor's Degree in Criminology, was elected President of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee for the next two-year term.
For the first time, this organisation, which was founded in 1993 in Buenos Aires and currently brings together more than 20 countries from Latin America, as well as Spain and Portugal, has a Portuguese President, attesting to Professor Carlos Poiares' recognised expertise and outstanding contribution to this field of knowledge and further enriching the academic and scientific profile of the Faculty of Law and CEAD.
