Lusófona University - Porto University Centre hosts the Job Fair

The Lusófona University Job Fair arrived at the Porto University Centre for its 4th edition on 17 March and brought together dozens of companies from different sectors of activity.

Among the entities present were Câmara Municipal do Porto, Adecco, Eurofirms, Intelec, Inditex, Domus Social, E. M., Grupo Mérito, Intelcia, IEFP, Grupo Mérito, panoramah!, Teach For Portugal, Pingo Doce, Triangle, PwC, Vila Galé Hotéis, MCA Group, Hospes Infante Sagres Porto, InterContinental Porto - Palácio das Cardosas, Manpower Group, Ordem dos Advogados, Ordem dos Notários, Valor T - SCML, Núcleo de Estágios do Instituto Diplomático | MNE, Sodexo Business Services and Living Tours - Viagens e Turismo LDA.

Promoted by the Internships, Active Life, Mobility and Lifelong Learning Service - EVA, the Job Fair had the main objective of bringing students closer to the reality of the labour market, creating opportunities for direct contact with employers.

Throughout the day, students were able to learn about internship and job offers, as well as clarify doubts about recruitment processes and sought-after professional profiles.

At the same time, the fair functioned as a privileged networking space, encouraging the creation of professional connections and the collection of useful information for future integration into the labour market.

The participating companies highlighted the importance of these initiatives, both for young talent and for the companies themselves.

Tânia, representing Pingo Doce and talent programme manager, explained that “they are important and fundamental because we end up having contact with young people and in some way also showing what our internal opportunities are that are open, both part-times and also opportunities to come and do an internship with us”.

On the students' side, José Canedo, from the Undergraduate Degree in Law, considered the initiative relevant to the academic path, highlighting access to internship opportunities and contact with different professional areas. For the student, the fair allows for a better understanding of possible career paths.

The lecturer Eva Chaves, who took her class to the event, stressed that these fairs are important for students, considering that “it is here that they also begin to have contact with the labour market, with what their future will be, what the reality of work will be”.

The 4th edition of the Job Fair thus reinforces the institution's commitment to supporting the transition of its students to the labour market, providing initiatives that facilitate access to professional opportunities and contribute to the building of more informed and sustained career paths.
