New Publication Strengthens Scientific Ties Between Portugal and Mozambique

The book Technology, Communication and Politics, edited by Moisés de Lemos Martins, Martins JC-Mapera, Nobre Roque dos Santos and Pedro Rodrigues Costa, recently published, stands out as a significant contribution to strengthening scientific and academic cooperation between Portugal and Mozambique.

The work results from a collaboration between Lusófona University and the Universidade Sociotécnica de Moçambique, consolidating a partnership which, according to Martins JC - Mapera, Rector of Universidade Sociotécnica, has been “producing tangible results in the field of scientific research and academic internationalisation, strengthening ties and promoting knowledge sharing”.

In its opening pages, readers find the article authored by the editors, “Technology, Communication and Politics in Times of Crisis of the State, the Media and Culture”, which sets the tone of the publication, aiming to understand the transformations of contemporary societies.

By bringing together diverse and interdisciplinary contributions from several Mozambican and Portuguese authors, “Technology, Communication and Politics” creates a space for reflection and critical analysis on the ongoing digital, media and political challenges and transformations, with a particular focus on the Mozambican and Lusophone context. This plurality of authors significantly enriches the academic debate.

In addition to the e-book edition, published in Portugal and to be made available in open access in the ULusófona repository, a printed edition is also planned for publication in Mozambique, in order to expand the book’s reach in both countries.

“Technology, Communication and Politics” is not merely a book, but the affirmation of a strategic partnership that strengthens academic and scientific ties and consolidates a space for cooperation and knowledge production between Portugal and Mozambique.
