Academic entrepreneurship once again took centre stage at Lusófona University on 25 June with another edition of PLAY YOUR IDEA, a competition organised by PLAY – Projects Lab Alliance For You, the University's creative and technology incubator.
Supported by the Lusófona Executive School, the European project FilmEU and CGI through the CGI Unicorn Academy programme, PLAY helps students and alumni develop ideas in the creative and technology sectors, supporting them in transforming concepts into projects with growth potential and strong market connections.
From nearly 50 submissions, six projects were recognised across two categories: Arts, Communication and Creative Industries and Digital and Technology. In the first category, Transição+ won first prize, followed by Lisbon Story Heroes and GUMO. In the Digital and Technology category, MyLessons took first place, followed by Twonect in second and Ametara in third.
The winning projects received financial awards together with access to a range of development opportunities according to their final ranking. These include incubation at PLAY, access to training programmes at the Lusófona Executive School and, depending on the category, opportunities through FilmEU or the CGI Unicorn Academy programme.
The competition aims to create the right conditions for ideas developed within the academic community to evolve into structured projects, test their potential and unlock new opportunities for growth.
