25.07.23 - 15h21Operat - Oficina de Recursos Acessíveis, in collaboration with CED Jacob Rodrigues Pereira (Casa Pia), won the Engineer Jaime Filipe Technological Innovation Award with the EducaçãoAcessível.pt project. A distinction within the scope of the participation rights of people with disabilities, awarded by the National Institute for Rehabilitation, which aims to stimulate research and the invention of instruments that guarantee a better quality of life for people with disabilities.
The games produced within the framework of the Degree in Videogames at the School of Communication, Architecture, Arts and Information Technologies (ECATI), at Universidade Lusófona, aim to contribute to a gap in the supply of resources of that type in which they are adjusted to the interests and needs of this population. They can be purchased in the prototyping laboratory of Lusófona LabTec or executed in another laboratory of that type, simply downloading the execution plans for free on the project website - “educacaoacessivel.ulusofona.pt”.
As an ongoing project, which has the support of Humanitas and CICANT, the publication of new video games and tangible resources accessible to people with intellectual disabilities is about to begin.
