ULusófona teacher presents immersive sound poetry for World Poetry Day

The ULusófona lecturer, Elvis Veiguinha, a researcher at CICANT, takes part in the World Poetry Day celebrations with an immersive 6.0 sound poetry installation, reflecting on the materiality of words and the potential of audio technology.

Situated in the Daciano da Costa Hall, the work moves beyond conventional listening to place the audience at the centre of the sonic experience. Through meticulous technical and aesthetic work, which employs the technological apparatus as an integral part of the narrative, the installation invites visitors to engage directly with language.

The project features performances by actors Ivo Canelas and Jani Zhao, whose voices were recorded and processed to enhance a disruptive sensory experience. Admission is free, allowing both the academic community and the general public to experience firsthand the artistic research developed within the University.

The installation will be open to the public next Saturday, 21 March, from 11:00 to 18:00, at the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB), Daciano da Costa Hall.
