Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
The seminar “Us and Them? Perspectives on Roma Culture, Gender and Interculturality” took place on 10 February 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, at the Agostinho da Silva Auditorium, Lusófona University – Lisbon University Centre, in a hybrid format with both in-person attendance and online streaming, requiring prior registration.
The initiative, organised by Lusófona University and CeiED, provided a space for reflection and dialogue based on the sharing of experiences and the exchange of diverse perspectives. The programme included the roundtable “Between Tradition, Invisibility and Change”, focusing on perceptions, stereotypes and attitudes, as well as the role of educational and social policies in promoting the participation of Roma women.
This was followed by an experiential and interactive workshop, aimed at engaging with cultural mediation practices and sharing experiences in educational and community contexts. Drawing on real-life situations, it promoted intercultural dialogue and reflection on identities, values, social organisation, and gender roles, emphasising the importance of inclusion and participation.
