As part of the preparation for the DAU Vienna 2026 Itineraries, a symposium dedicated to the study of the Austrian capital took place on 4 March in the Auditório Agostinho da Silva. The initiative was led by the Department of Architecture and Urbanism at Universidade Lusófona and formed part of the research project DEAR – Desenho, Ensino, Arquitetura | I&D Draw, Education, Architecture.

The DAU Itineraries are pedagogical and scientific initiatives that promote study visits to European cities, focusing on the architectural and urban analysis of their contexts. This symposium provided an opportunity for in-depth discussion about Vienna, bringing together lecturers and researchers to share specialist knowledge, present new perspectives, and engage in academic debate.

The session sought to extend the scientific and pedagogical experience associated with the itinerary to the entire departmental community, enabling students and lecturers alike — whether or not they take part in the study visit — to deepen their understanding of the city and follow the research process developed around its architecture.
