Objectives
Objectives
At the end of the curricular unit, students should be able to: LO1: Understand the role of the financial system in the financing of the economy. LO2: Identify the types of financial institutions and their intermediation models. LO3: Analyse the functioning and mechanisms of the foreign exchange market. LO4: Explain and apply the fundamental concepts of derivatives markets. LO5: Assess the impact of financial instruments on risk management.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
The teaching methodologies adopted in this curricular unit combine expository strategies with participatory approaches and digital tools to promote active, contextualised, and critical learning. Financial market simulations, analysis of real-world economic news, and practical case-solving exercises are employed. The aim is to develop both analytical and practical skills through the integration of theoretical knowledge with financial market realities.
