The strategic impact of information systems (IS) on organizations is associated with the continuous evolution of information technologies and systems, as well as the dynamic and competitive environment that organizations face. Information Systems are composed of all interrelated components that collect, process, store and distribute data or information to support the control and decision-making in an organization. In this sense, the curricular unit includes a set of important factors that allow the development of strategic management for organizations, from the definition of the types of information systems, the modeling and characteristics of tools for information systems, organizational solutions of information technologies to support information systems and the importance of extracting data knowledge, for the management, creation of standards and forecasts, as well as generating value at the organizational and social level.

Objectives
Objectives
To make known the context of Information Systems as a tool in the field of the management of organizations. Promote an active attitude to the development and implementation of information systems in organizations, promoting the capacity to evaluate systems, planning and development or implementation of them. Allow knowledge of the existing information system in the business world and demonstrate the ability to integrate information into different organizational functions, enhancing control and support in decision-making processes. Students are expected to: knowledge of the main concepts and types of information systems used by organizations; development and integration of some of the conceptual and technical competencies of business management, integrating into a platform through the root parameterization of an organization system in an enterprise simulation environment.
