Module I - Investment Project Analysis General aspects. Specific aspects. Module II - Investment Decisions Capital budgeting. Types of projects. Acceptance/rejection decisions. Mutually exclusive decisions. Decisions under capital rationing. Investment and operating cash flows. Module III - Evaluation of an Investment Decision Identification of relevant cash flows. Risk estimation. Assessment of the financial feasibility of the project. Module IV - Project Evaluation – Decision Criteria Payback period. Net Present Value (NPV). Benefit–cost ratio. Internal Rate of Return (IRR). Real investments with different lifespans. Risk analysis. Module V - Sources of Long-Term Financing Equity capital. Debt capital.

Objectives
At the end of the course unit, students should be able to: LO1. Understand the fundamental principles of investment project analysis. LO2. Identify and estimate the relevant cash flows associated with investments. LO3. Apply decision-making criteria (payback period, NPV, IRR, etc.) to different types of projects. LO4. Assess the financial viability of a project based on risk and capital structure. LO5. Integrate long-term financing concepts into investment analysis. LO6. Develop critical thinking, technical accuracy, and decision-making skills in real-world contexts.
