PC1: Science and the scientific method. 1.1. Scientific knowledge. 1.2. Objectives of science and research 1.3. The epistemology of science and scientific methodology: Assumptions of  qualitative and quantitative research   PC2: The process of scientific research / Planning and conducting a research (comparison between quantitative and qualitative methodologies) 2.1. The literature review 2.2. Defining the problem 2.3. Research questions and definition of research objectives 2.4. The formulation of hypotheses / Classification of hypotheses / definition of variables (methodological and metric point of view)   PC3: Ethics 3.1. Research ethics 3.2. Academic fraud   PC4: Research design (comparison between quantitative and qualitative methodologies) 4.1. Experimental, quasi-experimental, non-experimental research designs; 4.2. Phenomenology, Ethnography, Grounded Theory, Case study; 4.4. Methods of data collection; 4.5. Notation, Description, Interview, Questionnaire, Tests / Scales.

Different teaching methodologies (TM) will be implemented: Lectures of expository nature with audiovisual support (TM1), collaborative learning in small group (TM2), peer review (TM3), analysis of scientific papers (TM4) and discussion cases (TM5). The proposed and described teaching methodologies integrate a set of pedagogical innovation practices based on evidence, and adjusted to the objectives and contents of the curricular unit.
