Objectives
Provide an integrated perspective of the main Ancient architectural achievements; Identify the main architectural typologies and spatial solutions and understand their evolution over the period studied; Frame the architectural experiences in the political, social and ideological contexts of his time; Relate forms with their religious and civil functions; Understand the importance of artistic techniques and materials in each period. Relate the development of the architecture with the theory of the same age.

Teaching methodologies
It is understood that it is essential that students have access to various ways of processing the information made available by the Curricular Unit Syllabus with great emphasis on the possibility of experimentation and development of autonomy. The encouragement to promote activities outside the classroom stands out, with thematic trips, study visits within the scope of the program's subjects, as well as the search for complementary activities related to the issues in focus in the world and in the studied period and the way in which architecture impacts or is impacted by it.

O conteúdo do programa é exposto através de aulas teóricas apoiadas em meios audiovisuais que ilustram a matéria, assim como em visitas de estudo e aulas praticas, acompanhados de trabalhos de investigação. A avaliação será continua sem prova final.

A5 - Capacidade Teórica;
A6 - Capacidade de argumentação;
A7 - Capacidade de apresentar por escrito dos conhecimentos adquiridos;
A8 - Capacidade de apresentar oralmente os conhecimentos adquiridos;
A9 - Apresentação grafica dos trabalhos;
A10 - Capacidade de pesquisa;
A11 - Aplicacação na aula de conhecimentos adquiridos.
A12 – Participação e registo das actividades for a da sala de aula.
B - Exercicios na aula.
C - Trabalho de investigação.
Aos critérios do grupo A corresponde 20%, do grupo B corresponde 40% e ao grupo C corresponde 40% da avaliação.
Previstos 2 momentos de avaliação: exercicios na sala de aula e um trabalho de investigação.
