Dr Juliana Menezes is an Invited Assistant Professor and Researcher at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Lusófona University, Lisbon. She holds a PhD in Veterinary Science from the University of Lisbon, an MSc in Applied Microbiology, a BSc in Cell and Molecular Biology, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Laboratory Animal Science. Her research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, bacterial genomics, molecular epidemiology, infection prevention and control in veterinary healthcare facilities, and One Health approaches to infectious diseases at the human–animal interface. She has participated in several national and international research projects, coordinating competitive research projects as Principal Investigator and contributing as a researcher within multidisciplinary teams. Dr Menezes has authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific publications, contributed to a book chapter, and presented her work extensively at national and international conferences. Alongside her research activities, she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in veterinary medicine and is actively involved in the supervision and mentoring of MSc and PhD students. She contributes to the scientific community through editorial and peer-review activities, serving as Guest Editor, Topic Coordinator, member of the Editorial Board of Frontiers in Veterinary Science (One Health section), and member of the Early Career Editorial Board of Microorganisms. HHer current research interests lie in understanding the dissemination of antimicrobial resistance and its implications for both human and animal health.
