Sara Pina

Resume

Sara Pina is professor at Lusofona University and FCSH/Universidade Nova de Lisboa in its departments of Communication Sciences. Main areas of study are: Mass media ethics and law; Political communication; Political use of internet and social media. University of Lisbon/ICS, PhD in 2018 in the use of internet and social media in election campaigns in Portugal and in the USA. She was volunteer in Obama's 2012 election, Visiting Researcher in Georgetown University and Research Assistant in CUNY, City University of New York. From 2017 to 2021, she was senior advisor for the Portuguese Government, in the Minister of Justice Cabinet - Francisca Van Dunem. Before that, she was advisor to the board of the Luso-American Foundation (FLAD) where she was responsible for several programs and scholarships in the political and media fields and editor-in-chief of Parallel newsmagazine for Portuguese and American readers. She has work extensively as journalist, press and communication advisor, mainly in the justice and political areas. Published two books, co-author other two, and scientific articles and some fiction short stories, too. Other university degrees are the Master in Media and Society in FCSH/U.Nova in Lisboa, and the Degree in International Journalism at the School of Journalism in Porto. Sara Pina concluded specialisation and pos-graduation studies in foreign universities, namely at the French School of Public Management (ENA/Paris), at the Austrian Study Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution, at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and at the Kennedy School of Government of the Harvard University.
