Why is it important to do Transversal Curricular Units?
In a context of accelerated technological and societal transformation, Universities are increasingly called upon to rethink their traditional training models and develop new methodologies and offers that are more suited to the challenges of our time.
It is in this context and within the scope of the ongoing process of strengthening pedagogical innovation at Universidade Lusófona, that the University offers its students a set of freely chosen training offers, created with the aim of developing and reinforcing transversal skills that promote greater employability and critical thinking and cultural coverage today essential for any graduate.
These Transversal Curricular Units (UCT) allow students to acquire skills in different areas, such as communication, languages, digital processes and technology, logical thinking, complex thinking, among others, and are offered to all interested students.
What are Transversal Curricular Units?
UCTs were created to provide students with transversal skills essential for their integration into the job market and their personal development. Universidade Lusófona offers all students a wide range of curricular units in the areas of Digital Skills; Mathematical Thinking; Languages (English); Knowledge and Creativity for Innovation and Communication.
Who can register?
The transversal curricular units can be attended by all students at the university, regardless of the course they are taking.
How can I sign up?
The transversal curricular units that you can enroll in are those available on this page and are detailed by area.
Steps to register
- NETPA Login;
- In Academic Activities, go to "REGISTRATION/REGISTRATION", select "Continue Enrollment/Registration"
- You must choose "NEXT" until the ucs for the 2nd semester appear
- Choose the "EXTRA CURRICULAR" tab
- Select the desired UCs and complete registration.
What is the amount to pay?
Attendance at a UCT has a reduced registration cost (75 euros) and this amount will be returned in credit to the current account if the student completes the training.
What Course Units can I enroll in?
Students can enroll in the number and number of UCTs they consider important to complement their training, except:
- Curricular units that are part of the curriculum plan of the degree-awarding course they attend;
- Curricular units that are part of the options offered for the degree-awarding course they are attending.

- This means that they do not count as ects towards obtaining a degree, nor are they included in the final course or diploma certificate, they will be included in the diploma supplement.
