Class Statistics I

  • Presentation

    Presentation

It is intended that students become familiar with the fundamental concepts of thinking, language, and statistical techniques. They should be able to recognize the usefulness and wide application of these methodologies in various contexts, particularly within their fields of study.   Additionally, the goal is for students to develop skills in data analysis and acquire essential knowledge of probability theory and random variables. It is also aimed at enhancing their reasoning abilities to facilitate the approach and resolution of real-world problems within their areas of study or in different contexts.

    Objectives

Understand the concepts of Descriptive Statistics and Inductive Statistics, identify them and apply them in practical cases. Have knowledge about how to obtain, classify and analyze samples and how to do the respective statistical treatment. Internalize the concepts of algebra of events. Know the various concepts of probability and learn how to compute the probability of events. Identify the types of random variables and study them according to their type.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

In supporting the teaching and learning process of this Course Unit, the aim is to implement innovative methodologies that promote interactivity, active student engagement, and the effective use of technological resources. Accordingly, the Noodle Factory platform will be a central tool in this strategy, being used not only to provide supplementary content and educational resources but also to conduct quizzes, mini-tests, and other educational activities.   Through this platform, it will be possible to control access to resources and monitor students' progress, facilitating a more personalized approach and enhancing formative assessment. The integration of digital activities allows for reinforcing the understanding of concepts covered in class, promoting autonomous study, and stimulating student participation in a more dynamic and interactive way. This ultimately contributes to a more innovative teaching approach, better adapted to current educational demands.
