    This curricular unit involves knowledge of different natures, from Basic Sciences to Galenic Pharmacy and Dermatology. Deepening many of the aspects previously addressed in other domains, the Applied Cosmetology I course aims to cover the reality of protective cosmetics and decorative cosmetics in the most representative market segments (aesthetics/perfumery, parapharmacy), focusing on the underlying fundamental principles, from formulation and presentation, to dissemination and use.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

    The student should acquire skills to: - Recognize the most important aspects of legislation on cosmetic products; - Know the cutaneous physiology in depth; -Correctly interpret the labels of cosmetic products; -Identify the functions of the main constituents of a cosmetic formulation; -Interpret cosmetic claims; -Recognize the quality of a cosmetic formulation; - Choose the most suitable products in cosmetology and aesthetics.

    Teaching methodologies

    Flipped classrooms, where traditional lectures are replaced with interactive online content and in-person discussions, foster active learning and deeper understanding. Project-based learning allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Serious games in knowledge assessment.
