This CU aims to:
Foster the students ability to reflect critically, as well as their vocabulary range and fluency in English.Provide communicational tools so students can express themselves efficiently, courteously and professionally in English, in situations involving a formal presentation and the following Q-and-A.
Introduce the world of newspapers in English (UK and USA) as well as alternative media outlets, and reflect on contemporary news-related issues (fake news, media literacy, for example).
Enable students to decode the more common headlines in English-language press and to write short articles.
Enable students to exchange points of view and opinions in English on a topic of their field of education.

Objectives
The main competencies to be acquired are:
The ability to express him/herself fluently, clearly and concisely;
The ability to make clear and well-structured formal presentations, using suitable language to signal and signpost and create impact;
The ability to make critical interventions, clearly and in a well-structured manner, using the vocabulary and language strategies more suitable to the discussion of points of view and proposals;
The ability to identify the main types of newspapers and magazines in English (UK and USA);
The ability to understand and interpret newspaper headlines in English;
The ability to apply acquired knowledge in the discussion of ideas and proposals, orally and in writing

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Interactive exhibit short exposure times associated with audiovisual resources and demonstrations (real or simulations and recordings), individual and small group activities, debates. Such an exhibition will stimulate students to think, debate ideas, collaborate with each other and develop deep learning.
