Presentation
To prepare students for the application of statistical techniques, descriptive and inferential, to analyze
data on the context of the course, based on the acquirement of a solid knowledge of basic and
fundamental concepts on applied statistics.
To prepare the student for doing academic scientific essays in the area of his/her cycle of studies, based
on the development of a logic and organized reasoning that allow the definition of valid hypothesis and an
adequate presentation of statistical results.
At the end of this unit, the students should:
1. Develop skills in the application of statistics, descriptive and inferential techniques in data
analysis;
2. Apply the knowledge learned in formulating valid hypotheses and presenting
statistical results adequately.
