The unit combines cinematographic language with post-production practices (basic color correction, effects, and stabilization), preparing students for contemporary production workflows. Practical work uses industry-standard editing and post tools, with emphasis on Adobe Premier as the main environment for post-production and online.

1. Editing fundamentals (theory and practice) Editing grammar: continuity, ellipsis, pacing, point of view Editing for animation: pose readability, motion energy, timing, and clarity 2. Post-production organization and methodology Planning, workflows, file management, versioning, and exports Preparing an edit lock and sequence conformity 3. Post-production tools (practice) Fundamentals of editing and post tools Color correction (essential controls and sequence consistency) Masks and mask animation Basic effects and simple integration Stabilization and basic tracking 4. Finishing and delivery Visual and sound coherence; QC; delivery formats for review and public presentation

Objectives
Students are expected to: Apply cinematographic language to the editing of animation sequences (pacing, ellipsis, continuity, readability, and intent). Plan post-production workflows: project organization, versioning, exports, and quality control. Perform basic editing and post tasks: essential color correction, masks, simple effects, stabilization, and basic tracking. Build an effective image-sound relationship (sync, dynamics, silence, and timing reinforcement in animation). Critically assess the final result and justify technical and narrative decisions.

Teaching methodologies
Project Based Learning (PBL): short exercises and two practical assignments (editing and post-production), based on animation materials, when possible. Demo + supervised practice: in-class technical demos followed by guided execution. Guided critique (dailies): version reviews and iteration with feedback on readability, pacing, continuity, and consistency. Animation and live action references: clip analysis to discuss editing and finishing choices across styles and genres.

Trabalhos práticos Edição - Edição (50%): montagem de sequências de animação ou de imagem real (ritmo, continuidade, clareza narrativa e som base).

Trabalhos práticos de Pós-Produção (50%): finalização em Adobe Premier (correção de cor essencial, máscaras, efeitos básicos, letterings, estabilização/tracking quando necessário, consistência e exports).

Entregas: por link (vídeo +, quando solicitado, ficheiros de projeto organizados).

Condições de exame: realizam exame os estudantes que não entreguem todos os trabalhos pedidos em aula dentro do prazo e/ou obtenham classificação inferior a 10 valores.
