    Objectives

    OA1. Understand the nature, objectives, and functions of the firm as an economic organization, identifying its role in value creation and economic development. OA2. Analyze the business environment and the key factors influencing corporate competitiveness, including market structure, competition, and stakeholders. OA3. Apply fundamental concepts of corporate strategy, competitive positioning, and business models to the analysis of different organizations and business contexts. OA4. Understand the basic principles of the corporate finance function, recognizing the importance of investment appraisal and value creation for the decision-making process. OA5. Develop a critical perspective on contemporary business challenges-including innovation, digital transformation, sustainability, and social responsibility-by integrating theoretical knowledge into the analysis of real-world business situations.

    Teaching methodologies

    The course employs active, student-centered methodologies, combining interactive lectures with case studies, problem-based learning, discussions on economic and business news, and analyses of real-world companies. A "flipped classroom" approach encourages advance preparation through the study of literature and digital resources, allowing in-person sessions to focus on applying concepts, debating ideas, and solving problems. Additionally, the course incorporates collaborative activities, oral presentations, and the critical use of digital tools and artificial intelligence, thereby fostering autonomy, critical thinking, and analytical and decision-making skills within a business context.
