    Objectives

    At the end of the course, it is expected that students will be able to:

    1. Explain the key concepts of financial management applied to tourism companies.
    2. Utilize financial analysis techniques to assess the economic and financial performance of tourism companies.
    3. Calculate financial risk indicators of companies and characterize this risk from the perspective of different stakeholders.
    4. Interpret financial statements to make informed decisions regarding investments and financing.
    5. Apply financial management tools to address specific challenges faced by companies in the tourism sector.

  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    1. Real Business Simulations with Actual Data: Students will have the opportunity to use publicly available sector-specific data from the Banco de Portugal website to develop real case studies for competitive analysis in tourism companies.

    2. Utilization of Digital Tools: The incorporation of digital tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI will be integrated into activities for financial information analysis and reporting. Students will learn to analyze and interpret financial data using Excel to conduct more detailed analyses. Additionally, Power BI will be used for creating interactive and visually appealing reports.

    3. Project-Based Learning: Group projects will be developed throughout the course, involving the practical application of financial concepts in real-world scenarios within the tourism sector.

    4. Multimedia Resources: Video resources will be provided to further enhance the understanding of financial concepts and the use of digital tools.
