Objectives
- To ensure mastery of basic art history terminology and recognition of the chronology and context of the production of artworks from the different historical periods covered. - To foster a diverse and solid visual culture. - To promote the connection between contemporary artistic practices and the history and culture of art, which can contribute to the individual artistic practice of students.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
Interactive classes, based on group dynamics. The projection of images of works of art from the artistic periods under study, focusing on the Portuguese case, the reading of texts, and the showing of short films will be the starting point for analysis and joint discussion. To enhance dialogue, the various themes are presented in advance. Continuous assessment will be based on: evaluation tests (40%), a project/assignment to be carried out throughout the semester (25%) with an oral presentation of the results to the class (25%), also considering participation, attendance, and punctuality (10%).
