  • Objectives

    Objectives

    This curricular unit (CU) intends to promote the contact and the integration of the students in real contexts with clinical and non-clinical population. It is a priority to integrate knowledge and skills acquired in the different CU of this CS with the objective of applying them to practical neuropsychological situations. Specifically, it aims to: 1) foster knowledge about how to prepare a clinical history; 2) generate competences related to the application, scoring and interpretation of results of neuropsychological tests; 3) improve the skills related to the preparation of neuropsychological assessment reports.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Expositive and demonstrative methods. In a first expositive phase, the theoretical aspects related to ethics and deontology in the intervention in neuropsychology will be approached. In the demonstrative phase, teaching necessarily includes practical classes in and out the university campus. The classes in the institutions are directed to the observation and initiation, under supervision, to the know-how in real contexts. In the practical classes privileges the roleplay, exercises of scoring of tests and interpretation of results. Continuous assessment includes: a neuropsychological assessment report from practical activities (50%) and a final activity report (50%). The final exam focuses on the contents of the theoretical and practical classes (100%). Class attendance is mandatory. It is expected that the performance in the different moments of evaluation will guarantee the acquisition of the necessary skills for the approval in this curricular unit.
