The unit serves to introduce Masters students to the fundamental concepts of Diplomacy and Strategy in the modern international system. The unit considers, inter alia, theories of war and peace, and the mechanisms to secure these outcomes. At the same time, the unit seeks to provide students with knowledge so as to allow for a critical understanding of events transpiring in the international system.

Objectives
The aim of the unit is to guide studentes as they develop critical thinking, analytical capacities and scientific methods. Specifically, the aim is to guide students in the operacionalization of concepts derived from geopolitics and IR theory, so that they may apply these concepts to international events. Also, the relationship between theory, diplomacy and international politics is developed. In short, the unit seeks to familiarize studens with the scientific literature, main concepts and analytical tools used in international relations
