Ability to plan and structure the different phases of a design project. Establish regular research methods to increase knowledge of the student and optimize his work process. Structuring visual elements and texts using grids. Organize information through infographics: establish visual hierarchies through typography; use and combine different graphic elements; transform complex information into a functional and attractive infographic. Evaluate the effectiveness of the Information Visualization. Ability to present and discuss ideas and options in a project. Development of argumentative and critical skills in relation to their work and the work of their peers.

Syllabus
Characterisation of the different phases essential to the development of a design project; awareness of the need for technical mastery in order to respond to the demands of each project. Research as a continuous process of individual enrichment. The use of modular and alternative grids as the basis of a design project. Infographics and information design: Charts, maps and diagrams. How to transform complex information into a functional and attractive infographic. Editorial design based on the construction of modular grills.

The goal of this course is that students will be able to: Apply design methodology as an important tool for design projects Use and combine different graphic elements to organize simple or complex information in a perceptible and attractive way. Use grids as the basis for building a graphic project. Use the most appropriate tools for an assertive response to design projects, building solid concepts and well-founded Develop argumentative and critical skills.

Teaching methodologies
Lectures will be held to present the topics using audiovisual resources. Students will be provided with examples of projects developed within the scope of the subjects taught, as well as appropriate bibliography. Practical exercises on those contents will be done. Continuous Assessment will include the following elements: _ Exercises following each programme content. _ Practical projects simulating the reality of the market (with oral presentation in class)

Assessment
A UC de Projecto em Design III possui avaliação contínua, pressupondo-se a presença dos alunos nas aulas para o desenvolvimento dos projectos e acompanhamento com o professor.
A nota final da UC é obtida através da soma das avaliações obtidas nas 3 Propostas de Trabalho desenvolvidas aos longo do semestre (totalizando 80%, percentagens de cada Proposta de Trabalho a definir pelo docente) com uma nota atribuída pelas Atitudes/Assiduidade/Participação do aluno (20%).
No lançamento de cada Proposta de Trabalho o docente facultará um enunciado com os enunciado, objectivos, cronograma e critérios de avaliação dessa proposta.
Caso o aluno reprove à avaliação continua ou deseje efectuar melhoria da sua nota final, poderá realizar Exame de Recurso, sendo que quaisquer elementos avaliados durante a avaliação continua se perdem e a nota do Exame de Recurso corresponderá a 100% da nota final da UC.
Caso o aluno exceda o número máximo de faltas injustificadas à UC (mais de 30% do número de aulas leccionadas) será reprovado na avaliação contínua e só poderá tentar fazer a UC por exame.
