Presentation
It aims to raise awareness and motivate students to values ranging from architectural and artistic culture to hands-on experimentation with technological tools?drawing and modeling, among others. These skills will be provided in order to achieve a plastic sensitivity capable of synthesizing an intuitive approach to the discovery of forms and their use, with the necessary systematic rationalization of ideas through notions of order and rigor associated with a first approach to constructive aspects. The development of practical work will start from intuition in the discovery of the use of forms to understand the systematic rationalization leading to coherence between idea and proposal in a progressive search for logic and rigor, where there is room for the approach of constructive aspects.

Syllabus
The program proposes the development of a housing project in a real context, allowing for an initial approach to the methodology of spatial composition and a deeper understanding of the rigor involved in the processes of designing and representing space. It also aims to stimulate students' critical thinking, not only about their own projects, but also about their colleagues' projects, thus promoting communication and graphic and oral expression, which are essential to design practice. In this way, students become familiar with architectural complexity, working in particular on: Interpretation of the program: use and function as integral elements of the project;. The relationship between function and character of space; The notion of order: articulation between functional organization, definition, and structure; The deepening of the concepts of composition, measurement, and module.

Objectives
Objectives
Stimulate critical observation and analysis skills; Enhance and develop synthesis skills; Initiate a methodological dynamic of spatial composition; Promote the articulation between the organization of space and the experiences associated with it, as well as its representation; Master the basic tools of design: drawing and modeling; Introduce rigor in the preparation and graphic presentation of project documentation. These objectives are in line with the MIA study plan, where: The pedagogical program is multidisciplinary and centered on the Project CU; The study cycle is integrated, with a framework of values and skills that are embodied in the Project; A system of horizontal coordination between the UCs of each academic year and vertical coordination of the scientific areas of the study cycle is adopted.

Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
With the central theme of architectural objects inhabiting a real context, the aim is to foster interactive, autonomous, and diversified learning, geared toward understanding the architectural complexity introduced in Project 1.1. An exercise will be carried out that reinforces the role of the student as the main agent in the teaching process, promoting the integrated articulation between reflection and practice. This methodological model is aligned with the Bologna Process, which promotes the transition from teaching focused on the passive acquisition of knowledge to the development of skills. The final grade will result from the weighting between the assessment of the exercise and the other grades throughout the year, adjusted to the quality of each student's progress. Due to the nature of the course unit, there will be no final exam or resit. Failure to attend any assessment component may lead to a negative grade.

Assessment
Assessment
