Lecturers and students from Lusófona explore, in an unprecedented collection, the multiple revolutions triggered by 25 April

Students and lecturers from Lusófona University paid tribute to the 50th anniversary of 25 April 1974, engaging in an educational research project that resulted in the collection *The Revolutions of the Revolution*.
Cristiana D. Almeida, a lecturer in Social Work, recalls the creation process and the aim of this project. "We want to show that the 25 April Revolution was not only a political change, but a set of small revolutions that transformed people’s everyday lives," says the Professor, co-coordinator of the project. The four books therefore highlight the importance of reflecting on the social and political transformations that have shaped Portuguese society over the past five decades.
Each book explores different areas of research and topics, ranging from statistical portraits on the evolution of employment, unemployment, birth rates and mortality in Portugal, to workers’ rights and opportunities, as well as women’s rights and the social policies introduced over the past fifty years.
Professor Cristiana Almeida stresses that the collection is not limited to a theoretical analysis, but seeks to give a voice to those who never had the opportunity to share their experiences. "It is essential to listen to the voices of those who lived through these changes. History is not only made of dates, but of people and their lived experiences," concludes Professor Cristiana Almeida.
This project, which involved the collaboration of lecturers and students from the various courses of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of the Company (FCESE), was a complex undertaking that required an entire academic year of preparation and research. The effort of all those involved promises to enrich the understanding of Portugal’s recent history and its impact on community life.
