Innovative knowledge modelling tool strengthens International Relations education through simulations and decision-making support

The use of KML (Knowledge Modeling Language) as an innovative pedagogical tool is at the heart of GIRI-hub (Gamification in International Relations Lab), a project exploring new approaches to learning in the fields of International Relations and security through simulations and complex decision-making models.
This approach is being developed as part of a project coordinated by Sabrina Medeiros, in collaboration with the National Defence Institute (IDN), bringing academia closer to applied contexts of training and strategic analysis.
KML makes it possible to structure and represent knowledge systematically, making visible the decision-making processes, the actors involved and the political and institutional interdependencies within international scenarios. Integrated into simulations and serious games, this model enables participants to test different strategies, assess consequences and understand the complexity of security and international policy contexts.
