The Rector and Administration of the Lusophone University have the honour of inviting Your Excellency to the ceremony for the conferral of the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Professor Coach Carlos Queiroz, by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports.

Carlos Queiroz

Carlos Manuel Brito Leal de Queiroz was born on 1 March 1953 in Nampula, Mozambique. A Portuguese national, he is a prominent figure in the world of football, recognised for his career as a coach.


Academic Background

Carlos Queiroz graduated in Physical Education from the Instituto Superior de Educação Física at the Technical University of Lisbon, where he studied from 1975 to 1980. In 1987, he obtained the Pedagogical Aptitude and Scientific Capacity Certificate from the same institution.


Playing and Coaching Career

As a player, he served as a goalkeeper at Clube Ferroviário de Nampula from 1968 to 1974. Carlos Queiroz holds the UEFA Pro Licence, the highest coaching certification in Europe. His coaching career is extensive and includes:
