Universidade Lusófona is honoured to confer the title of Doctor Honoris Causa upon His Excellency the President of the Republic of Cabo Verde, Dr José Maria Neves. The formal ceremony will take place on 06 October 2025 at 17:00, at the Agostinho da Silva Auditorium in Lisbon, with the presence of distinguished academic and institutional figures.
The programme will include formal and symbolic moments such as the academic procession, addresses by senior University officials, institutional tributes, and a special participation by His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic, Professor Dr Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who will serve as academic sponsor for the new Doctor Honoris Causa.
This event represents not only a recognition of merit, but also a reinforcement of the ties of cooperation between Portugal and Cabo Verde in the fields of education, culture, and knowledge.
