Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre is organising, on 11 March 2025, the commemorative session "The History and Memory of 11 March 1975", a debate forum that brings together specialists and key figures to reflect on one of the most significant moments of the Carnation Revolution.
11 March 1975 was a decisive event in consolidating the revolutionary process and shaping democracy in Portugal. Its historical significance has been widely discussed in academic studies and journalistic publications, such as the documentary The Secret Recording of the "Savage" Assembly (RTP, 2019), by Jacinto Godinho, and the book The Night that Changed the Revolution. The Military Assembly of 11 March 1975, by Carlos de Almada Contreiras (Colibri, 2019).
During this session, Jacinto Godinho’s documentary will be screened, followed by a debate with a panel of speakers from various fields, including key historical figures, academics, journalists, and editors.
