A passion for women’s volleyball and the art of developing diverse talent
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
Daniele Santarelli is a distinguished women’s volleyball coach, widely recognised for his remarkable achievements in the sport. Under his leadership, the club he coaches has won an impressive seven consecutive Italian league titles, while the Turkish national team has claimed the world championship.
For Santarelli, the constant pursuit of victory and new challenges is the driving force behind his continuous development as both a coach and a sports professional. However, there is one challenge he chooses to avoid: coaching men’s teams. In his view, female players display exceptional determination in pursuing their dreams, making the experience of working with them both unique and highly rewarding.
The coach shares his passion for sport and success with his players, from whom he demands dedication and commitment throughout training. Despite his demanding approach, Santarelli is known for his sensitivity to each player's individual needs. Drawing on extensive experience working with athletes from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, he has learned to adapt to the specific characteristics of each player and team, making the most of the richness that diversity brings.
