A Professor of Law and a man of many passions, José de Faria Costa reflects in this interview on a life shaped by thought, language and creativity. Between the demands of justice and the freedom of art, he speaks about the way poetry and painting have accompanied him throughout his life and continue to shape the way he sees the world.

During the conversation, he recalls the curiosity that has always stayed with him, as well as his fascination with colour, nature and the small discoveries that help to develop an artistic sensibility. Writing emerges as a space for reflection, while painting remains closely linked to the desire for expression and the search for beauty.

More than simply revisiting memories, the interview reveals a professor who thinks about Law beyond rules and regulations, and who finds in art a way of understanding the human condition. Moving between beauty, goodness and what is right, José de Faria Costa shares an inspiring perspective on knowledge, creativity and meaning.
