This CU aims to: Further develop students’ vocabulary range and fluency in English. Enhance students’ language skills for acting and media contexts. Build competence in functional English for professional and social situations, both orally (participating in meetings) and in writing (emails/CV/cover letter). Reinforce students’ communicational tools for more efficient, courteous and professional interactions in English, in situations involving exchange of opinions and discussion of ideas and proposals, with convergent and divergent points of view. Raise students’ awareness of how to enhance their CVs and cover letters for better results. Enhance students's ability to exchange points of view and opinions in English on topics pertaining to their field of education.

Coming to terms with terminology – the language of film and TV. Different genres and their conventions, areas of the film industry and the reception of films/shows (reviews). Understanding professional meetings - preparing, calling and the role of the chair. Keys to effective meetings. Suitable language to engage with others, elicit and offer opinions and proposals, respond adequately. The language of politeness and assertiveness. Objectives
The main competencies to be acquired are: The ability to express him/herself fluently, clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; The ability to participate efficiently in professional meetings, using suitable language to express and respond to opinions and proposals. Teaching methodologies
Teaching methodologies
Interactive lectures - short moments of presentation (to introduce or summarise) associated with audiovisual resources and demonstrations (real or simulations, and audio and video recordings), individual and small group activities, debates, case studies for discussion, role-play activities for practice and consolidation. This methodology will stimulate students to think, debate ideas, create solutions collaboratively and develop deep learning. Continual use of communicative activities to the detriment of formal lectures by the teacher, students do research and share information on the topics, individually and in group. Topics are given interdisciplinary approach, flipped classroom methodology, feedforward process to develop learning.
