The Curricular Unit of Voice-over and Dubbing focuses on the professional use of the voice in the fields of voice-over and dubbing, addressing its technical, performative and communication dimensions. It is centred on the development of skills related to vocal expression, script interpretation, character performance and the adaptation of vocal delivery to different audiovisual formats and production contexts. The unit covers the main areas of professional practice, including advertising, corporate, documentary and multimedia voice-over, as well as audiovisual dubbing. Its approach combines technical knowledge with practical studio-based work, promoting an understanding of professional workflows and standards associated with voice performance in the audiovisual, artistic and media sectors

1.Conceptual framework of voice-over and dubbing. Overview of voice-over and dubbing, including their fields of application, areas of professional practice and career profiles. 2.Vocal technique and oral expression. Breathing, diction, articulation, vocal projection, voice placement, rhythm, intonation, vocal expressiveness and voice adaptation to different communication contexts. 3.Voice-over. Principles and techniques of voice-over applied to different genres, namely advertising, corporate communication, documentary, multimedia content and narration. 4. Dubbing. Audiovisual dubbing processes. Synchronisation, script adaptation, vocal interpretation and character voice performance. 5. Studio practice. Recording procedures, studio workflow and practical application of the skills developed. 6. Project and critical analysis of the work developed.

Objectives
Objectives
By the end of the curricular unit, students should be able to apply professional voice techniques in voice-over and dubbing contexts, demonstrating competence in breathing, diction, articulation, vocal projection and vocal expressiveness. They should be able to interpret different types of texts, adapting vocal delivery to communication objectives and the specific requirements of different audiovisual media and formats, while performing voice-over and dubbing tasks with appropriate synchronisation, interpretative intention and vocal characterisation of characters. Students should also be able to apply professional studio procedures, adapt their vocal interpretation to different production contexts, and demonstrate critical reflection and continuous improvement of their practice, acting with autonomy, technical accuracy and professional responsibility

Teaching methodologies
Learning is based on active and experiential methodologies, including practical exercises, recording simulations, project work, listening to and critically evaluating the recordings produced, self-assessment and formative feedback. Studio-based sessions familiarise students with the technical and professional procedures of voice-over and dubbing.
