Objectives
Objectives
At the end of the semester, students should have developed skills that allow them to understand mandatory and optional aspects inherent to the management of airport handling operations in accordance with European standards and IATA recommendations. The programmatic contents of this curricular unit are developed around the critical aspects of understanding, analyzing and planning assistance activities at schools, from a short, medium and long term perspective, taking into account the challenges of the industry in relation to the environment, efficient management of resources and sustainability. The particular nature of this activity poses specific challenges that students must become aware of as well as the different options that arise. Regarding the same options, they will learn to formulate points of view based on the respective advantages and associated disadvantages.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
No final do semestre os alunos deverão ter desenvolvido competências que lhes permitam compreender os princípios e conceitos inerentes ao Planeamento e Gestão dos Operadores de Assistência em Escala, de um modo sustentável.
Pretende-se que os alunos adquirem conhecimentos e desenvolvem capacidades e competências na área de Planeamento e Gestão de Assistência em Escala, nomeadamente afetação de recursos materiais e humanos, planeamento e gestão de custos de modo eficiente; e, cumprimentos de requisitos normativos da indústria.
De um modo global, as estratégias pedagógico-didáticas adotadas visam dar respostas aos objetivos delineados para o sucesso das aprendizagens da Unidade Curricular, tais como: implementação de exercícios de simulação, análise de casos de estudo da indústria, de modo a estimular o gosto pelo conhecimento e envolvimento do aluno no processo de aprendizagem, fomentando o pensamento crítico, participativo e analítico do aluno, bem como o auto-estudo.
