Presentation
Physiology is a subject that is of major importance in the study of biological sciences. It is in this subject that we are given to understand the function of the various organic systems and the way molecular structure is expressed in these systems. The motor and behavioral responses in each individual result from their harmonious physiological functioning.

Objectives
Objectives
This CU teaches the principles of functioning of the major physiological systems as well as their integration and control, and the different solutions that allow different animals to survive in extremely varied environments and circumstances. The approach of the physiological problems that animals face and how these are resolved will be systematically presented. Students should establish functional relationships among the major physiological systems and their integration and control mechanisms. They must be able to understand the relations of environment and the physiological processes that evolved in order to overcome the different environmental challenges. In the practical part, they should still be able to understand basic mechanisms in Physiology, like respiratory, cardiovascular or endocrine systems. They should still develop reading skills of scientific articles and oral exposure of topics in animal physiology and learn how to prepare posters and reports.

Assessment
Assessment
1) Continuous assessment: 2 tests (70%); 2 reports of practical classes (10%); Elaboration and
oral presentation of a scientific poster based on results collected in practical classes or with
based on a scientific article within the scope of the discipline (20%).
2) Assessment by exam: 1 final theoretical exam (70%) and a final practical exam (30%).3) Failure to complete any of the practical components implies failure to the continuous assessment
4) In this course, the use of Artificial Intelligence tools is not permitted for the preparation of written assignments, presentations, midterm assessments, or final exams.
In the case of written assignments, students must present their work orally. The final grade for the assignment will be the individual grade each student receives for their oral presentation.
