Class Journalistic Genres

  • Presentation

    Presentation

In this curricular unit the concept of journalistic genre is discussed, confronting the theoretical proposals with the configurations introduced by the practice in the newsrooms. The intersections between journalistic genres and reference and sensationalist press are evaluated. The main journalistic genres of information and opinion are typified, introducing a third classificatory aspect - hybrids. Case studies of the Portuguese press are also carried out: daily newspapers, weekly newspapers and general information magazines.
