Objectives
To be able to critically articulate a scientifically sound discourse on gender. To know the main works around gender theory. To be able to critically engage with media sources from a gender perspective. To be able to understand the role of gender in constructing our relationship to media. To be able to analyze a media corpus with a gender perspective. To be able to consider and implement gender equality initiatives in media settings.

Assessment
A metodologia de avaliação é constituída por cinco elementos principais, sendo que todos eles são obrigatórios:
a) Prova escrita, presencial e individual, com possibilidade de consulta de material académico impresso (30% da ponderação);
b) Trabalho de grupo escrito, apresentação e defesa do mesmo (35% da ponderação, nota única para o grupo);
c) Ficha de leitura, e análise, de uma novela gráfica (15% da ponderação, grupo);
d) Análise e reflexão presencial, individual, a partir de um objeto mediático (10% da ponderação, grupo);
e) Ensaio autorreflexivo sobre o impacto pessoal da experiência com a Unidade Curricular, nas suas várias vertentes (10% da ponderação).
